Hydrogenium, together with the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv, is conducting preliminary work on the construction of a pilot plant (with a capacity of 100 kg of biomass/hour) for biomass processing. This year’s research by the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv showed a breakthrough in connection with the high efficiency of obtaining hydrogen through the biomass gasification process, with production costs in the order of 1-2 euro for each kilogram of hydrogen produced. The start-up of the demonstrator at the Hydrogenium research facility is planned for the first quarter of 2025.

– The technology we developed in cooperation with scientists from the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv has very favorable parameters for converting biomass to green hydrogen. We want to become a regional leader in the production of hydrogen and e-fuels, actively participating in the green transformation we are seeing in the world. The syn-gas produced can be converted into e-methanol or other green fuels, or used in the sustainable production of chemicals for the green chemical industry, increasing the versatility of this innovative technology.
